How to read Sprint 350 energy meter
If you are in Sri Lanka and you have got your self a net meter from CEB (Solar power), then its very likely that you have a Sprint 350 energy meter. Before we proceed any further, I like to say, this is the least intuitive electronic device I’ve ever seen.
Here are the steps to read the meter.
1. Wait till the display is automatically switched on (don’t press any buttons)
2. After display reset,
1st reading – [tue 14.09.16] – Current date
2nd reading – [tm 07.30.55] – Current time
3rd reading – [U 000753.5 kWh ->] – Current import energy reading
4th reading – [U 0002.32 kVA ->] – Up to now, max import demand seen for this month (in kVA)
5th reading – [U d04.09.16 ->] – Date when the above max import demand occurred
6th reading – [U tm13.10.00 ->] – Time when the above max import demand occurred
7th reading – [U 000725.2 kWh ->] – Imported energy reading for the previous month (before meter reset)
8th reading – [U 0002.73 kVA ->] – Max imported demand for previous month
9th reading – [U d28.08.16 ->] – Date when the above max import demand occurred (previous month)
10th reading – [U tm04.23.00 ->] – Time when the above max import demand occurred (previous month)
from 11th reading to 18th, same format follows for exported (generated) energy. Eg. 15th reading (same as 7th) will give you the Exported energy reading for the previous month.

Unfortunately I don’t have the manual. I think they are not providing it freely due to security issues.
I’m planning to build a pulse counter for to log power usage over time for my setup. Will share information once I have done it.

I’ve not come across any issue like that. May be it is trying tell you something. Are you sure you have correct voltage on the 3rd phase ? To which phase your Solar is connected ?

Is this for Three Phase Meter or Single Phase Meter, There is slight different between your explanation and my meter reading, Do you have any idea ?
Mine is a 3 phase meter. Are you sure it is Sprint 350 ? Anyway, feel free to post what you see. It may help others. If you wait till next month, you should be able to figure it out.

OK, I got to know that CEB (Sri Lanka) has changed the Sprint 350 output so it shows only export and import for domestic installations. Problem with old setup is meter reader sometimes need to wait for 3 ~ 4 minutes in front of the meter in order to read the export and import.

how do i reset my sprint 350 meter
If you press and hold one of the two buttons, you can reset some of the counters.
I have installed a net meter Secure SARAL, which is a Single Phase net meter, Unable to take the readings, if someone provides details for reading, it will be helpful

But we getting KWH reading less by 5 times
Is there any multiplication we need to do?
Hi Rakesh,
There could be multiple reasons. How do you know you are reading less ?
1. Your new meter can be defective or need calibrating.
2. Your old meter (or your reference) is wrong.
3. If you already have Solar installed, 4/5 power is supplied through Solar panels and you are only taking 1/5 of power from the grid.
Bottom line is, if you are measuring, you need to do this in a controlled environment.
